Lincoln Park Residents Remember.....

Remember, night falls faster now that we are nearing the winter season. So try to complete all of your errands during the day time, along with your daily exercises. Just last week, a lady by the name of Laura Caldwell, 41, was mugged and attacked, during the night time, at the corner of Seminary and Altgeld . She was mugged for her iPod while jogging ( I assume for a daily exercise routine). At night, some streets can become very dark in our neighborhood, especially at Seminary and Altgeld. So if you must run an errand at night either:

A) Bring a friend with you
B) Talk to someone on the cell phone and let them know to be prepared to call 911 in case of an emergency
C) Decide whether or not your errand can wait until the next day.

Lincoln Park is one of the best neighborhoods for vicious robbers to roam at night. Some of us feel that nothing bad can happen in Lincoln Park but truth be told, no one is perfectly safe. So beware of suspicious activities in the neighborhood and if you become concerned, call the police. Try not to go out at night and finish your errands during the day. BE SAFE!!

Poll Results (so far)

Here are the poll results currently (due to the faulty "View Results" link on the poll)

State Representative John Fritchey (D): 64%
Alderman Manuel Flores (D)-1st: 7%
Cook County Commissioner Mike Quigley (D): 7%
State Representative: John D'Amico: 7%
Alderman Patrick O' Connor (D)-40th: 7%
Tom Hanson (R): 7%

Judging from this poll, State Representative John Fritchey is clearly the frontrunner in the race. However due to the large number of candidates, it will be very difficult for many to receive endorsements from notable elected officials. Many of them like Mayor Daley, are quietly watching this race from the sidelines. If my poll is accurate, this race will not result in an open primary but, if this poll is inaccurate, then anything is bound to happen.

If you haven't voted yet, vote now! A link to the poll can be found in a previous post. You have until 11/30/08 to cast your vote.
